Liva N. Rock-Culture as a Phenomenon of the Romantic Cultural Tradition

The thesis explores the similarities that exist between the rock culture and romantic culture of the 19th century. Rock culture is examined as a phenomenon of the romantic cultural tradition, which has different forms of continuation in the 20-21st centuries. Thus, musical culture of romanticism of the 19th century and the rock culture have been compared in this work. The comparative analysis is done with the purpose of ascertaining typological traits of the two cultural phenomena, containing different aspects, such as aesthetics, mythology, historical situation, thematic spectrum, type of creative personality and specificity of musical form. A romantic model of the world represented as a three-leveled system was used in the thesis as a basic instrument of comparative analysis.
