The thesis is devoted to complex research organization and activity of the Scientific Advisory Council of the People's Commissariat of Land Affairs of the USSR in 1927-1930. The influence of political, social and economic factors on the development of agriculture and agricultural science in the study period is observed, and the conditions of the affairs in agricultural research deed in Republic are described. The processes of functioning of the Scientific Advisory Council, directions of its activities, membership are investigated on the basis of analysis of archival documents. The periods of forms and tasks of the work are developed. The role of the Council in the institutization and academization of national agricultural research deed is defined. The object of the research is the development of agricultural research deed, agricultural science, providing scientific and organizational direction of its management as an integral part of the history of Ukraine. Purpose is to build on the critical analysis of available sources and existing literature comprehensively highlight, analyze and summarize the conditions of the creation and scientific and organizational activities of the Scientific Advisory Council of the People's Commissariat of Land Affairs of the USSR in 1927-1930. The thesis used general scientific research methods (analysis, synthesis, classification), interdisciplinary (structural and systemic approach) and the actual historical (problem-chronological, comparative historical, periods, descriptive, retrospective), as well as methods of source and historiographical analysis and synthesis. The priorities were given to documents that helped to analyze the scientific, organizational and nation-building activity of the Scientific Advisory Council of the People's Commissariat of Land Affairs of the USSR. The practical significance of the results lies in the filling gaps in the history of agricultural science in relation to the establishment and development of national scientific and organizational institutes of agricultural profile in the second half of 20-ies of last century. The summary of the study can be used in training historians, naturalists, while learning courses on the history of Ukraine, history of science and technology, agriculture, history of agricultural science, and during writing textbooks, manuals, reference books, encyclopedias and more. Scientific novelty of the results: Complex research of the organization and activity of the Scientific Advisory Council of the People's Commissariat of Land Affairs of the USSR is investigated on the basis of the used archival and other available documents; The influence of the Scientific Advisory Council on the creation a number of research institutions is observed thanks to the introduced to the scientific community a wide range of historical documentaries and official materials; their activities and the conditions of agricultural research deed in the USSR are highlighted; Unknown facts about the history of formation and activity of the Scientific Advisory Council of the People's Commissariat of Land Affairs of the USSR in the 1927-1930, as well as membership are described; the directions of the activity and the role of the Council in institutization of agrarian science are analyzed.
