Mel’nyk A. Development of Pupils’ Social Intelligence

The object of research is pupils’ social intelligence. The work purpose is to create the correctional program of development of components of social intelligence on the basis of a deepening of representations about psychological features of development of social intelligence at children of different school age. The methods: comparative analysis, system approach to the analysis of the mental phenomena, modeling; interrogation, psychological testing, psychological experiment and mathematic-statistical methods of research. The scientific novelty: the dissertation presents the theoretical and methodological analysis and displays the results of an experimental research of social intelligence development among schoolchildren; the thesis reveals the content of cognitive, emotional and behavioral components of social intelligence; it also investigates patterns of age characteristics among schoolchildren of junior, middle, and senior age, which influence the manifestation features of these components; the dissertation determines factors of social intelligence; the dissertation research suggests and approves a training program in order to correct the development level of certain components of pupils’ social intelligence, depending on the characteristics of these components within various age periods; the study determines general development tendencies of cognitive, emotional and behavioral components of social intelligence. The practical value of research: the correctional program of development of social intelligence of children of school age is developed depending on features of development of components of social intelligence in the different age periods.
