Shulga D. Foreign Words in Writers' Epistolary of 1920-50

Object - epistolary texts by Ukrainian writers of 1920-50. The aim is to make a comprehensive study of stylistic features of foreign words, attested in Ukrainian writers' (continental and Diaspora epistolary) of 1920-50. Methods - linguistic description, semantic and stylistic analysis, stylistic commenting, distributive analysis, quantitative calculations. In the work for the first time was carried out a comprehensive study of loans, recorded in Ukrainian writers' epistolary texts 1920-50: the structure and types of foreign units, used in the analyzed letters were discovered; the tendency of their functioning as nuclear components tropes, stylistic techniques and figures was highlighted; the features of phonetic and graphic adaptation of borrowings, considering current at the time spelling norms, were analyzed; derivative potential of foreign lexemes was define, the characteristics of loans' adaptation on the grammatical level of language were described.
