In this thesis the problems of formation and development of Volyn bandore art in the 20th - early 21st cent. in the context of regional and national culture forming processes are studied. Peculiarities of musical culture functioning of Ukrainian cultural and elucidative societies are investigated, and the complete picture of bandore-players' activity during the Polish expansion is regenerated. The main tendencies of bandore art formation in the period of complex social and historical processes of the second half of the 20th cent. are revealed, the facts of set instruments improvement are guided, the pedagogical achievements of leading experts and the most prominent bandore-players' concert activity are highlighted. Dynamics of bandore repertoire formation in Ukraine is traced, and the ways of repertoire development in Volyn region are determined (creation of author compositions and bandore translations in such kinds of compositional creative work as: transcription, arrangement, music adaptation). It is stated that Volyn bandore art of the 20th-early 21st cent. was developing both in the cultural and historical directions, occurring in the frames of one nation, and within the regional directions of artistic activity, and its professionalization became a natural phenomenon of cultural and artistic progress.
