Essay

The object is psychological readiness for future professional activity; the aim is to define the peculiarities of formation and purposeful development of future psychologists' emotional sphere as a component of their psychological readiness for professional activity; the methods: theoretical (analysis, systematisation and generalisation of psychological data concerning the content and components of emotional readiness of future psychologists' for professional activity, theoretical modelling), methods of collecting empiric data (observation, self observation, conversation, questioning, polling, testing), methods of mathematical-statistical data processing; the novelty: it is the first time when psychology students' emotional readiness for future professional activity types are revealed - they are "sufficient", "moderate" and "unfavourable" ones which differ by the indices of emotional intelligence level, anxiety and peculiarities of the attributive style; the notion of the structure of future psychologists' emotional readiness for professional activity has been broadened by means of revealing on the basis of theoretical and factor analyses of such its components as emotional intelligence, optimism and anxiety; the author has broadened the notion of psychology students' emotional readiness for future professional activity formation in the process of studying dynamics which is revealed in stability of the general level of emotional intelligence on the background of decreasing indices of optimistic attributive style and increasing personal and situational anxiety; the characteristics of future psychologists' emotional readiness for professional activity have been further developed by means of revealing the connection between its type and students' outer and inner motivation for studying; the means of psychological support of professional preparation in higher educational establishments have been further developed by means of creating a programme directed to the development of psychology students' emotional readiness for future professional activity; the results lie in creating a development-correction programme directed to future psychologists' emotional readiness for professional activity development during their professional preparation; the created development-correction programme can be used for creating other practical programmes of development of emotional readiness for professional activity of not only psychology students but also the students of other professions whose future activity presupposes working in the conditions of emotional tension; the results of the scientific research can be used when teaching the courses of Introduction to the speciality, General Psychology Practical Work, Pedagogical Psychology, the Psychology of Work, the Basics of Psychotherapy, the Basics of Psychological Practice, Higher School Psychology; the field of the research is psychology
