Оbject -gender identity of teenagers; objective - to determine the peculiarities of the gender identity components formation as well as the ways of its development and correction in teenagers which are brought up in the educational establishments of boarding schools type; methods - theoretical and methodological analysis, systematization and generalization of psychological data, psychological and pedagogical experiment in the form of diagnosing, forming and control researches, methods of mathematical statistics; novelty - revelation of the connection between age peculiarities of formation of the cognitive, affective and conative components of gender identity of the teenagers and their socialization conditions, namely: teenagers of deprivations are defined by inconformity in the content and narrowness of gender perceptions range, low level of knowledge about social roles of men and women (the mentioned tendency increases with age), negative attitude to oneself as to the particular gender representative, representatives of the same and the opposite sexes (the mentioned tendency increases with age), by rigidity, non-differentiation and masculinization of gender behaviors; expansion of the concept of age peculiarities characteristic of gender identity acquisition by teenage pupils by determination of connections between gender behavior demonstration of the boarding school pupils and their recipience of their own gender belonging; improvement of the psychological follow-up means of the positive gender identity development of the boarding school pupils by means of creation of developmental and corrective program the structure of which includes motivational, cognitive, affective and conative blocks; further development of gender identity diagnostic tools of teenagers by construction of the methodological complex consisting of the cognitive, affective and conative components and including the research methods of gender perceptions, expressiveness of masculine/feminine characteristics, teenagers' self-attitude, attitude to representatives of the same and the opposite sexes as well as gender behavior types; results - creation of the developmental and corrective program aimed to prevent deviations in gender identity formation of teenagers of deprivations, development and control of the complex of gender identity diagnostic tools which can be used in the process of professional training and professional level increase of practical psychologists; field - Psychology
