K.K. Pavlova's lyrics is a significant and original chapter in the history of Russian literature of the nineteenth century. Such connoisseurs of poetry, as Belinskiy, Baratynskiy, Yazykov, appreciated her very much. She took a prominent place in the biography of A.K. Tolstoy. However, the poetry of K.K. Pavlova was studied poorly. We have a relatively small number of articles, the most part of which is devoted to individual, private matters of Pavlova's biography, her poetics, but there is no monograph that contains a versatile, in-depth, focused consideration of the poet's creation on the modern scientific level. Pavlova's personal and creative contacts with her contemporaries weren't studied enough. All these things determine the relevance of the chosen topic and aspect of its review. The aim of the research is a comprehensive study of poetic perspectives of K. Pavlova's lyrics according to its evolution, connection with the leading ideological and artistic trends of that time, themes, genres and stylistic originality. The thesis attempts to introduce personality and creativity of the poet in the context of social and literary movement of the mid-XIX century by recreating a comprehensive, integrated, and supplemented picture of the relationships with her contemporaries with new materials, A. Mickevich, E.A. Baratynskiy, N.M. Yazykov, A.K. Tolstoy and others. They had a very different character, and each case demanded an appropriate approach. The thesis analyses the themes, genre and figurative system of Pavlova's lyrics. The topics and genres of Pavlova's lyrics of 1840-1850's became a subject of special attention, the theme of poet and poetry, and especially its interpretation. Pavlova's genre search and attempts to update the traditional Russian lyric genres have been considered. Analysis of a number of poems with repeating the name of "Duma" leads to the conclusion about typical trend of Russian lyric poetry of the time - merging thoughts and elegies in one genre form. Pavlova's "Dumy", anticipating a famous collection of A. Fet's "Elegy and Thoughts", contain serious reflections on different social and philosophical themes and at the same time imbued with an elegiac tone. A genre of "conversation" in Pavlova's poetry has got a new content and unique artistic structure. Analysis of the "Conversation in the Trianon" and "Conversation in the Kremlin" shows the expansion of this traditional poetic form by the socio-historical, moral and ethical problems. The artistic innovation of the essay "Dvojnaja zhizn'" has been investigated in the most important aspects - a combination of prose fragments and poetic texts in its artistic structure.
