The work is devoted to the development of the social worker professionalization model and its implementation in the educational process of the university. This issue is inextricably linked to the theoretical basis for the essence of professional social workers, levels of development, the educational process aimed at transforming the function of psychological mechanisms of a professional social worker. It discloses the concept of the social worker professionalization in education at the university, carries out an experimental study of psychological mechanisms of the professional activity of social workers and conducts a professional diagnosis of the social workers phenomenon in the university education. The paper presents the organization, procedure and methods of the social workers professionalization research in higher education, a study of psychological mechanisms of the functional activity of professional students, analyzes the stages of social workers professionalization in an experimental learning process of high school, performs a comparative analysis of the results of studies of professional activity of students of the experimental and control groups at the final stage of training. The scientific novelty of the study is that for the first time in a scientifically specific way the essence of professionalism of a social worker as a specalist's subjectively subjective quality was defined, characterized by self-organization of functionally effective psychological structures with their coorganization with the professional practices into a single entity. The mechanisms of development of professional social workers in the educational process of high school are shown: self-determination in the apprentice-master relations, self-organization and coorganization of acts, feelings and ideas, a reflection of personal contribution, "my I" into "our I" in the collective mental activity. The practical significance of the study is to justify the introduction of university training in the process of developing forms of professional collaboration of teacher and student in the formation of the social worker professionalism. The results of this study are important for the solution of general methodological issues of psychological training of social workers, findings and research materials can be used in lecture courses, seminars and workshops; methodical forms of organization of educational process provides the possibility of individual trajectories of students to improve their own professionalism. Scientific and generalized empirical evidence derived from research which were developed by the author are an independent author's contribution to the development of the concept model of the professionalization of social workers and its implementation in the educational process of a university. Results of the study offer opportunities for further scientific research in the field of educational and developmental psychology.
