Pedagogically and psychologically-grounded theoretical analysis of the problem is offered; categories of competitiveness as a comprehensive description of the formation of basic competencies of future business lawyers are defined; a notion of "a competitive behaviour" aimed at the updating of one's personal potential through self-education and self-development is introduced; the idea that a business lawyer's personal competitiveness is a manifestation of their level of economic culture is grounded; the author's competitive specialist model containing personal and professional components is developed; the criteria for assessing the level of competitiveness formedness are defined; the competitiveness formedness levels are analyzed; organizational and pedagogical terms of future business lawyers competitiveness formation in the process of training are singled out; the author's model of future business lawyers competence-based competitiveness formation is developed and field-tested; a special course "Fundamentals of the Science of Competition" is introduced; a methodological resource aimed at creating organizational and pedagogical conditions for the future business lawyers competitiveness formation is developed.
