The thesis is devoted to the study of ecological consciousness of students. The systemic-dynamical approach has been applied to generalize and systemize the experience in the study of the peculiarities of the ecological consciousness in students. The principle of the ultimate goal presupposes the achievement of non-pragmatic, inclusive, subjective attitude to the nature whereas the principle of integrity and connectivity is aimed at defining of word's meaning as an operational unit of ecological consciousness linked to its components: sensual matter, meaning and senses. In accordance with the principle of hierarchy, the author has fleshed out individual and mass ecological consciousness as separate modules being interdependent. According to the principle of functionality one should consider reflective, projective and regulative functions of the ecological consciousness in the framework of social and psychological students' features; as to developmental function one should take into consideration the program of students' ecological development with due account of youth age peculiarities. The results of theoretical and empirical study enabled revealing features of mass and individual consciousness through human meaning ascribed to nature. Among main results of the research is the construction and realization of the training. The forming stage of the experiment in control and experimental samples shows the increased indices of ecological consciousness. So the systemic and dynamic approach followed in the research proved to be effective in developing students' ecological consciousness.
