The thesis is devoted to studying the psychological conditions of the development of gymnasium teachers' professionalism. The paper analyzes the major research paradigms, psychological and pedagogical approaches to defining the essence of the concept of "professionalism". It carries out an objective analysis of the psychological foundations of a gymnasium teachers' professional activity. It also works out a theoretical model of gymnasium teachers' professionalism. The thesis reveals the features of formation of attribute characteristics (professional competence, professional identity, teaching potential, reflection, flexibility and subjectivity) of gymnasium teachers' professionalism, depending on the stage of developmental age and practical experience. It tests an author programmer of professional and personal self-development of gymnasium teachers and proves its effectiveness. It is set that the terms of development of professionalism of teacher of gymnasium is: it is specially created intellectually creative educational environment, possibility of measuring of attributive descriptions of professionalism in the process of the permanent monitoring; design of interpersonality communications, activation of mechanisms of samodeterminacii.
