Grushko E. The Phenomenon of Marginality in the Western European Culture

Culture Studies conception of marginality as the phenomenon of the Western European culture is elaborated in the dissertation. Cultural creative potentiality of the phenomenon of marginality as the backbone factor of the Western European cultural space in historical period from the Early Middle Ages till Postmodern is represented and grounded. The role of threshold processes in culturogenesis and its meaning in culture-historical dynamics is researched. It is proved, that this threshold experience of cultural process in culture catalyzes cultural creativity and mutual enrichment of tradition and innovation in culturogenesis. The notion of culturmarginality is introduced in the dissertation, with the help of which value creative contents of threshold phenomena full of cultural impulses are fixed.
