Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of psychological features and factors of adaptation younger teens to study at the secondary school. The paper presents a theoretical analysis of the psychological concepts of adaptation personality; the problem of school students adaptation, particularly in their transition from primary to secondary school; the structural components of adaptation of fifth school graders: cognitive, emotional, educational and motivational, behavioral, the combinational of which determines the level of adaptability of youger adolescents to new learning environment in secondary school. Picked complex psychodiagnostic methods aimed at determining the level of adaptability of fifth-grade students to the new learning environment. Established levels of students' adaptability (high, medium, low) are provided with psychological characteristics. A program of psycho-pedagogical support of the process adaptation younger teens to study at the elementary school are proved developed and implemented, which include working with fifth grade students, their parents and teachers. It is proved that teaching of young teens in the program causes the process of adaptation to new learning environments and positiving impact on their personal development.
