The dissertation work complexly looks into the problem of the musical guilds origin and formation in Ukraine. It is stated that the musical guilds origin in Ukrainian towns is first of all connected with formation of the workshops, corporate amalgamations as a basic element of the urban society. The structure of the musical guilds did not have fundamental differences from other workshops with the musical guilds being simultaneously religious brotherhoods. The guild musicians celebrated traditional holydays of the calendar cycle, having their own calendar rites. The specifics of theses rites was in its principal role played not by agrarian rites, but by a city-wide and church solemnity, workshops rites determined by the specifics of the craftsmen's labour and life rhythm. The musical guilds much influenced upon the musical mode of life of the Ukrainian towns of the XVI-XIX century. The early stage of the professional music formation is also inseparably tied with the musical guilds.
