Rudnytska G. External vector of social communication on the materials of Italian press.

The thesis is submitted as partial fulfillment of requirements for the Ph.D.Candidate in Social Communication. Specialization 27.00.01 -Theory and History of Social Communication. - Institute of Journalism, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ministry of Science and Education, Youth and Sports of Ucraine. - Kyiv, 2012. The author of the thesis systematizes conceptual and categorical apparatus in studying peculiarities of external vector of social communication on the materials of Italian press as well as specifies the notions of fact, event, international event in the sphere of mass media. The approach to comprehend gatekeeping theory in the process of news filtration, specific features of international information in mass media space have been summarized. The author has substantiated main criteria for the events signifying newness, specified major tendencies in the development of contemporary Italian press, revealed the problems of Italian media system on the ground of its function.
