The research comprehensively explores modern changes in the functional characteristics of documentary and factual information according to the transformation model. Theoretical and practical aspects of identification, typology, pragmatics, dysfunction of documentary and factual information and technologies of its interpretation in the media are studied. The purpose of the research is to identify and formalize the key factors of identification, typology, pragmatics, dysfunction of documentary and factual information and the technology of its interpretation in the media. The object of the research is documentary and factual information - a part of social communication. The subject of the research is the functional characteristics of documentary and factual information under the influence of convergence processes in social communication. The methodology of studying documentary and factual information has been developed. Research formalizes functional features and typological-species classification of media, blogs and corporate documents. Modern features of typological transformations of domestic information space are established.
