Essay

The object is the personality sense of a professional activity. The goal is to substantiate theoretically and to investigate empirically the determinants and transformation mechanisms of a personality sense of a subject's professional activity in the process of one's professional formation as well as to determine the combination of personality characteristics that cause them. The theoretical methods are a theoretical and methodological analysis, synthesis, systematization of psychological literature on a subject of the study, modeling; the empirical methods are an interview, standardized testing procedures; the mathematical statistics methods are establishing differences between the samples in terms of variables with Student's t-criteria; the interpretative methods are analysis, synthesis, classification of the obtained data. For the first time an approach to the analysis of the contradictions between the structures of semantic fields as the determinants of the transformation of personality sense of professional activity is presented; for the first time there have been discovered the combinations of personality characteristics that cause the controversy within the semantic sphere of subjects of professional activity; the typical variants of transformation of the personality sense of a professional activity and their relation to behavior within the scope of professional activity have been determined; the concept of the essence and peculiarities of transformational modifications of the personality sense of a professional activity in the course of professional development has been clarified and extended. The application area is the academic process, psychological practice (diagnostics, counseling).
