Essay

The dissertation research found that students with iodine deficiency took less iodine-rich products, less iodized salt, iodine containing medical products in comparison with children who are sufficient in iodine. It was proved that elementary school children with iodine deficiency suffer from respiratory infection at twice the rate, develop physically more slowly, have decreased cardiophysiological adaptive capacity to prevailing sympathetic influences and have lower levels of higher psychical functioning, causing decreased overall school performance, as compared to children with sufficient iodine intake.
