Object of research is the process of formation and development of chemical technology of nitrogen-containing compounds and soda in Ukraine. The subject of the research - directions and results of scientific research in the field of chemical technology of nitrogen-containing compounds and soda in Ukraine. The goal and objectives of the study: for historical and scientific analysis of the formation and development of chemical technology of nitrogen-containing compounds and soda in Ukraine in the end XIX - the 80-ies. Of the twentieth century. Methods of the study is based on the principles of science, historicism and objectivity. Methodological approaches are implemented through the use of methods: periodization; internal criticism; comparative and system analysis; statistics; multi-factor analysis; profile. Theoretical and practical results for the research of the historical region lies in the fact that certain achievements of Russian scientists in the field of chemical technology, as an organic combination of science, production and education, can be applied in research studios on the history of science and technology, reference books, scientific articles and biographies of scientists. Scientific novelty - for the first time carried out historical and scientific analysis and reconstruction of the origin and development of scientific directions of chemical technology of nitrogen-containing compounds and soda in Ukraine; discovered the process of formation of the chemical industry; examined the basic directions of scientific researches of scientists of the Kharkov technological, Kiev and Odessa Polytechnic, the higher mining technical school; for the first time the importance of the influence of Professor I.E. Adadurova on the development of scientific research in the field of chemical engineering at the leading scientific institutions and higher educational establishments; reaffirmed the importance of the results of studies of Russian scientists-chemists by the decision of problems of ecology.
