Zhabin S. The appearance and development of informatics in Ukraine (70-80-th of XX century)

The dissertation is devoted to the research of informatics in Ukraine. It is shown, that informatics holds the key place in the structure of modern science and has a worldview impact on the development of a society. The development of computing and cybernetics, as a background of informatics, has been studied. Institute of Cybernetics played a leading role in the emergence and development of the modern information technologies in Ukraine. Materials from private archives, covering informal forms of scientific activity 1960 1970's at the Institute of Cybernetics ("Cybertonia") has been put into practice to the world scientific community. History of the Department of Informatics of the NAS of Ukraine shows that the institutionalization of computer science in Ukraine took place in the 1980's. Also the periodization of the informatics development in Ukraine has been presented. First in Ukraine, the V.M. Glushkov' original draft design document 1980 National automated system of collecting and processing information for accounting, planning and economic management (OGAS, 1980) has been observed. It is concluded, that the OGAS is the first scientifically and economically reasonable effort towards building an information society.
