Kukina Z. Legal Standards and Practical Regulation of the Media in International Law.

The thesis deals with the theoretical and practical issues related to the regulation of the relationships that develop in the course of the media activity in international law. On the basis of profound analysis of international legal acts, laws of different countries, as well as Ukrainian legislation in the field of media regulation this paper researches main features of legal regulation of the media by international law, analyses and systemizes basic international legal standards relating to the media. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the mechanism of international legal regulation of the mass media, including European standards, which regulate the activities of the media in the region. The thesis analyses the gaps in the legislation of Ukraine in the media sphere, and works out corresponding proposals to improve the relevant legislation of Ukraine.
