Pompa O. The folk dance: genesis and modern forms of its existence (based on Zhytomyr region)

In this dissertation the genesis and modern forms of existence of the folk dance in Zhytomyr region were investigated by studying the systematic analysis of fieldwork; documentary, historical, ethnographic and choreographic material, the state and the trends of modern choreographic culture in Zhytomyr region were defined; regional peculiarities that exist in the dance culture in Zhytomyr region were identified; analytical and practical results of the field research were conducted; the establishment and the development of the folkloric dance groups were acknowledged; the current repertoire of professional and amateur dance ensembles were described; preservation and promotion of the national scenic and choreographic culture in Zhytomyr region were defined.
