Essay

The thesis investigates the formation and specific, generic and individual stylistic manifestations of the Spanish-Catalan Modern. Some stereotypical assessments that emerged in the national science to the A. Gaudi's art are revised. The new data were introduced to the scientific use of the national art. For the first time the author's hypothesis concerning the visual sources of the such works of the architect as the crypt of the Colonies Guell, Park Guell and parabolic arches, which is considered as "the firm" feature of the A. Gaudi's architecture are proposed and justified. The creations of the Catalan architect and designer J. Jujol were analyzed. The statement about him as the founder of the trash art is substantiated. The jewellery art in the Modern style of the Spain is analyzed, the stylistic influences and innovations in the jewellery of the famous jeweller L. Masriera are found. The creations of the painters of the Spanish-Catalan Modern is analyzed and it is found that the most distinctly the Modern style manifested itself in the works of A. Riquer.
