Oneiro lexis in Ukrainian, English and Latin is classified into the following lexical-thematic groups "denoting sleep within the framework of dreams", "denoting a dream", "indicating the state of slumber", "posessing the signs of death", "indicating the state of insomnia". Phraseological units with oneiro component are metaphorically linked with designation of typical human qualities in all studied languages.
