Essay

The thesis analyzes the issues of combating organized crime focusing on the legal cooperation of the EU Member-states mainly in the realms of justice and internal affairs. In the light of the Schengen Agreement (1985), the Treaty of Maastricht (1992) and the Treaty of Amsterdam (1997) the characteristics of the EU Member-states legal cooperation formation are revealed. The thesis introduces to the Ukrainian legal community a vast number of previously unknown European scientific sources, as well as reveals peculiar generalities in European and Ukrainian scientific approaches.
