In the dissertation by the system analysis of sources and the scientific literature the processes of the preservation of the book monuments as the cultural values in the national libraries of the Ukraine are investigated; the ways, forms and methods of the library activity which provide the efficiency of the modern approach to the preservation of the book monuments in the national libraries of the Ukraine are proved; the forms of the preservation of the book instructions in the libraries of the Ukraine are analyzed; conditions storage of the book monuments in the national libraries of the Ukraine are characterized, innovative technologies of the preservation of the book monuments are opened.
