Essay

The thesis is devoted to the problem of teaching rhetoric on the upper grade of secondary specialized school. Linguistic, psychological, pedagogical, educational language principles of forming rhetorical competence of senior pupils during Ukrainian language lessons are analyzed. The essence of the notions "rhetorical competence of a senior pupil of specialized school", "secondary rhetorical exercises" was developed. The experimental work was aimed at creating rhetorical competence of pupils realized in communication. Experimental practical experience proved that the level of rhetorical competence of senior pupils of secondary specialized school increased at the condition of implementation of rhetorical environment: primarily through the use of information about the notion and function of rhetoric, basics of polemical proficiency, rhetorical genres, basics of the communication efficiency, individual speech behavior, speech etiquette, systematic use of secondary rhetorical exercises, introducing the genre aspect of the Ukrainian language learning through exploring different models of genre, their rhetorical criteria, systematic implementation of interdisciplinary and cross-curriculum connections that contribute to the ability to apply acquired language, verbal skills and communication skills in a variety of situations successfully
