Essay

The object of the dissertation is the technological process of wood impregnation by protective fire-retardants based on carbamide. The purpose of the thesis is to improve technology of wood impregnation by fire-retardants based on carbamide. The methods applied: graph-analytical and analytical methods for impregnation time evaluation; nonequilibrium thermodynamics; heat-and-mass transfer, and heat-mass exchange theory; physico-mathematical; mathematical statistics. The academic novelty: two-stage solution coating of carbamide based fire-retardant has been suggested for the first time; new chemical compositions of fire-retardants have been selected and machine for surface coating of wood has been developed; formulation of a fire-retardant has been devised; a model of transferring fire-retardant through the wood has been developed, that allows to forecast the solution concentration at a certain point or area of the assortment; the regularities of diffusion and capillary impregnation of wood have been substantiated, that allows to suggest the conditions of wood impregnation by fire-retardant based on carbamide; the thesis contains the confirmation of practicability of combination of hot and cold methods of wood impregnation based on a newly created chemical composition of fire-retardant - carbamide. The results: two-stage solution coating of carbamide based fire-retardant has been suggested; graph-analytical method of calculation and forecasting of impregnation depth of wood assortments has been developed. Implementation degree: the results of the dissertation research consist in using the new selected chemical compositions of fire-retardants for fire protection of wood at Brody Furniture Enterprise "Yavir", "Dobromyl DOK", OJSC.
