Essay

In language emotions are represented by abstract formations known as emotional concepts. This thesis is devoted to the analysis of the semantics of the concept of fear in English, Ukrainian and French lingual cultures. The integrative comparative analysis of the cognitive and semantic structure was carried out which gives the possibility to compare the ethno specific characteristics of the concept in three different cultures. The interpretation of the results of the linguistic investigation also made it possible to compare the scientific characteristics and the "naive" view of the phenomenon of fear reflected in languages
