Kotsan V. Traditional national clothes as display of identity of ethnographic groups of Ukrainians of Transcarpathia (ХІХ – first half of the ХХ century)

Object: traditional folk costumes of Transcarpathian Ukrainians XIX – early XX century. Purpose: To conduct comprehensive analysis and generalization of local versions of traditional folk clothing Transcarpathian Ukrainians XIX – early XX century, find in it special and distinctive signs, urban and other ethnic influences, Carpathian-Ukrainian and Ukrainian common properties. Methods: field study, comparative-historical, typological analysis, complex analysis, historicism, historical reconstruction, mapping and literary-analytical. Results: for the first time in Ukrainian ethnology attempted emphasizing ethnically identifying signs and ethnographic features of dividing properties of people's clothing, local features of folk costume of ethnic groups Transcarpathian Ukrainians and their local-territorial cells are identified, improved the methods of research, which is based on the recognition of traditional folk dress as a matter of ethnology and art studies. Scope of application: in the preparation of synthetic works on ethnology of Ukraine, issues of ethnogenesis and ethnic history, comprehensive historical and ethnographic research Transcarpathia, region of the Ukrainian Carpathians, as well as in writing manuals, training lectures, special courses on ethnography, ethnology, local history, the construction of exhibits of ethnographic and natural history museums, in the construction of modern clothing.
