Bondar Y. Financial security of banking in the context of financial globalization.

Dissertation studies theoretical and practical aspects of banking security in the context of financial globalization. A review of the evolution of theoretical concepts of bank capital movement is contained, with emphasis on the specifics of international movements of bank capital and methodology for analysis of banks security in the financial globalization context. The notion of "financial security of the economy" is defined, the role of the banks security within the financial security at country level is shown; the author's definition of banking system security is given, current banking risks are identified, which may have a significant impact on the bank performance, their classification is given. Long-term threats of foreign bank capital to national economic development are outlined, forms of foreign banks' presence in banking sectors of emerging market economies are discussed, patterns of foreign banks localization in the emerging market economies are shown, and selected country-specific practices of applying mechanisms designed for eliminating bank crises and preventing threats to the financial performance are highlighted. A system of qualitative and quantitative indicators to measure financial security at bank level is proposed, risks stemming from the loss of bank liquidity and solvency as factors for the financial security of banks are analyzed; internal and external factors influencing bank liquidity, risks of unbalanced liquidity are shown. The system of indicators is applied for measuring the performance of the Ukrainian banking system.
