The dissertation is devoted to the development of the method of estimation of the special physical preparedness of 16-17 years old biathlonists on the annual cycle stages and its correction according to discriminating features. The work defines discriminating features of the special physical preparedness of young biathlonists in accordance with the dominating development of physical qualities and age-qualifying specificity of sports skills formation. Highly informative diagnostic complexes of staging pedagogical control of the special physical preparedness of young biathlonists are developed and offered. The dissertation suggests approaches to the estimation and correction of the training process of 16-17 years old biathlonists depending on the initial level and the dynamics of physical qualities increase.
