Tsvihun T. Dollarization of the economy of Ukraine in conditions of financial imbalances.

The process of dollarization of the economy of Ukraine in conditions of financial imbalances is studied in the thesis. The theoretical generalization of philosophical and scientific reflection of currency substitution based on the differentiation of the value of money is performed. The extensive retrospective analysis of the scientific thought defining the economic essence of the phenomenon of currency substitution in conditions of financial imbalances is conducted. A number of modern and futuristic ideas of dollarization process are specificated and classified. Evolutionistic determinants of dollarization in conditions of instability of international finance leading to the use of several dominant world currencies in international payments are detected and examined in the research. A methodology for determination of dollarization level is established, the types are classified, positive and negative effects of ambivalent process are singled out. A theoretical conceptualization of rhizome paradigm of dollarization reflecting spatially localized economic relations between dollarized countries and international financial institutions is suggested in the research. An empirical mathematical model of the impact of payment imbalances on dollarization of the economy of Ukraine is developed and quantitative assessment of the above mentioned relations is conducted. The research of monetary consequences of dollarization of economy of Ukraine in conditions of growing moral hazard and increasing external debt of Ukraine denominated in foreign currency is enhanced in the thesis. The need of economic policy and currency intervention in conditions of procyclicality of monetary policy and high level of dollarization of the economy of Ukraine is analyzed.
