The thesis suggests a new contrastive approach to determination of types of intimization in English and Ukrainian multimedia and printed advertisement texts; complex methods for the analysis of verbal and nonverbal means of intimization in these texts have been developed; common and different verbal and nonverbal means of intimization in English and Ukrainian advertisement texts as well as the intimization role of metaphor in their content plane creation have been determined; it reveals the character and specific of nonverbal means of intimization in English and Ukrainian discourse; it specifies general cultural tendencies in the sphere of intimization.
