Essay

The thesis contrasts the functions of the derivation analytism in English and Ukrainian. The integral features of the derivation analytism are the following: the avoidance of homonymy, the assurance of semantic accuracy, the connection with the syntactic level, the counteraction against functional growth, and the compensation of synthetic derivational means. The differential features of the derivation analytism concern the quantity of analytic derivatives, the productivity of analytic derivation types, the number of derivation bases, the coexistence with synthetism and amorphism in English and only with synthetism in Ukrainian, and the connection with the morphological level.
