Vlasenko O. Pharmaco-toxicological evaluation of complex antiparasitic drug for parasitic diseases of sheep

The subject: pharmaco-toxicological assessment of drug "Brontel-plus". Objective research: the study of the most efficient and economically well-founded of the new drug "Brontel-plus" considering its toxic parameters. Test methods:pharmacological, toxicological, haematological, biochemical, immunological, cytogenetic, parasitological, epizootological, koprological, acarological, statistical. Scientific innovation: a new drug "Brontel-plus" which is a combination of two active drug substances closantel and praziquantel, providing a wide range of anthelmintic activity against nematode, cestode, trematode and arachnoentomoses infestations. Defined the parameters of acute and chronic toxicity of "Brontel-plus" and founded that according to GOST 121.007-76 it relates to moderately toxic, and its DL50 when injected in stomach of white mice is 1679,6 mg/kg of body weight. Coprological and acarological studies were found that infestatation of sheeps in Sumy region was: strongylata - 38,7 %, moniezia - 34,0 %, fasciola - 9,3 %, psoroptes - 14,9 %. Degree of implementation: scientific novelty of the work is confirmed by a patent. Deworming drug for farm animals "Brontel-рlus ™". Application field: veterinary medicine.
