The thesis is worked out to develop the scientific and methodical fundamentals of geoinformational mapping based on spatial data infrastructures (SDI) for district (regional) territorial level which determine the nature, the structure, the methods and the system of data set formation and use (consistency, modularity, flexibility, reliability, homeostatic kind). The main structural informational modules (invariable components) of spatial data infrastructures (base data set, profiles data set, metadata bases), the principals of their interaction on district (regional) level of geoinformational mapping (data coherence, general data availability, standardized data integration, polyvariant results representation) have been defined. The kind and type of cartographic models featuring the use of SDI on regional level of geoinformational mapping, the peculiarities of their content and destination have been substantiated. The advantages of geoinformational mapping based on SDI (the case of regional territorial level mapping with the creation of map models of different kind and type) have been stated.
