Оbject - attention as a factor of the foreign language acquisition by student of higher educational institutions; objective - to determine the attention peculiarities, its connections with cogitation and self-discipline of the students as well as psycho-pedagogical conditions of the attention activation for increase of a foreign language acquisition effectiveness; methods - general scientific theoretical (analysis, synthesis, systematization, comparison, generalization), empirical (questionnaire, interchange, documents analysis, psychodiagnostic), psycho-pedagogical experiment, mathematical statistics methods; novelty - the 1st definition of the direct connections between the students' attention features (tolerance, refocusing, allocation, volume), ability to set relations between the concepts on the basis of selecting the essential features of the objects and phenomena being a ground for analogy, personal self-discipline and success of a foreign language acquisition which have a particular specificity on each stage of education on a higher educational institution; extension of the concept of the juvenile age features by means of its definition as beneficial for the attention development in conjunction with a person's self-discipline while acquisition of a foreign language in conditions of the credit based modular learning; extension of the concept of the students' self-discipline characteristics through defining self-activity planning, responsible attitude to the planned issued and subjective control as its components; improving of the context of such concepts as organized attention, personal self-discipline: the organized attention means the attention the properties of which reach a high level of development and stability of connections and which function in cohesion with a high level of the cogitation development and a person's self-discipline; and a personal self-discipline is a personal quality occurring in ability to plan the activity, a responsible attitude to the planned issue and a high level of a subjective control; a further development of definition of the psycho-pedagogical conditions of the attention features development (tolerance, refocusing, allocation, volume) of the students in cohesion with a high level of the cogitation development and a person's self-discipline; results - implementation of a developing corrective program directed to the development of the students' attention, cogitation, ability to plan the time, self-discipline and subjective control which can be used while the students' foreign language acquisition, the research results can be used in the process of professional training and increase of professional level of practical psychologists; sphere - Psychology.
