Essay

The thesis deals with the study of applying additional resistance to respiration on exhale as an extra training means in training highly qualified rowers with the aim of increasing their special endurance. The advantages of applying expiratory resistance to respiration while improving special endurance of rowers were scientifically substantiated consisting in unidirectional positive changes in cardio-vascular and respiratory systems compared with other types of respiratory influences. The application of respiratory exercises with additional resistance to exhale while warming up and having a rest performing a set of work on water was found to accelerate the time for normalizing the frequency of heart rate and to provide the improvement of boat motion uniformity while covering contest distance. The application of experimental methods in preparing period and during pre-training mesocycle was found to be efficient. The time for super-restoration of rowers' functional state was defined and should be considered while planning additional extra training loading with the resistance to exhale.
