Voyevutko N. Teacher training in the Republic of Cyprus in the 20th century

The thesis presents a comparative analysis of teacher training concepts in the Republic of Cyprus and Ukraine. Historical and pedagogical analysis of teacher training in Cyprus before the twentieth century is presented. The periodization of teacher training formation and development in the Republic of Cyprus in the twentieth century is grounded. The particularities of teacher education and training organization in Cyprus in 1901-1922 are highlighted. The formation of teacher education and training in 1923-1959 is analyzed. The particularities of the national system of teacher education and training in the Republic of Cyprus in 1960-1989 are described. The reforming of teacher education and training in the Republic of Cyprus in 1990-2001 as well as its further modernization are described. The common points and differences of teacher education and training in Ukraine and the Republic of Cyprus are distinguished; the perspective directions of the introduction of teacher education and training experience from the Republic of Cyprus in the system of higher education in Ukraine are offered.
