Goal - development of principles and substantiation of directions of reconstruction of industrial areas and facilities in large cities and largest cities (on the example of Kyiv). Object - industrial areas of large and largest cities (on the example of Kyiv). Methods - a systematic approach, structural and functional analysis, comparative analysis, graphic-analytical and metric analysis, methods of mathematical statistics, expert evaluation, on-site investigations, functional planning modelling and experimental design. Results - the principles of selection of preferred directions of reconstruction of industrial areas and facilities in the contemporary social and economic conditions formulated, a technological model of selection of preferred directions of reconstruction of industrial areas of large and largest cities developed; a matrix of decision-making on the direction of transformation, functional use and placement of industrial facilities in the city structure developed. Field of application - urban development and territorial planning.
