The thesis is dedicated to the problem of the professional competence development of the foreign languages teachers' at the postgraduate studying. The state of the problem is reviewed in the pedagogical theory and practice; the scientific approaches to defining the given phenomenon's content and structure are disclosed. The postgraduate studying peculiarities of the professional competence of the foreign languages teachers' development are studied. The model and the technology of the professional competence developmence the foreign languages teachers' is worked out and scientifically proved; the criteria, characteristics and the specified competence development levels are defined. The model's efficiency is tested experimentally in the process of the foreign languages teachers' professional development at the postgraduate studying The author' course is created and the teaching manual for the foreign languages teachers' is worked out.
