Babiy N. Baroque Art Culture in the Catholic Monuments of Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The dissertation covers the primary reasons of emergence of Baroque Catholic cult architecture in the region and the circumstances that enhanced its development; examines the influence of socio-historical, cultural and artistic causes. The dissertation defines the role of Catholic temples as synthesizing element of different kinds of art and forms of culture building acitivities. It systematizes Baroque temples based on the chronology of building and the stylistic features. The dissertation finds and reaffirms the names of builders, architects, and the founders, who were active agents in creation of the key intellectual, artistic, world-view, spiritual and cultural concepts. The dissertation discusses common tendencies in the development of architecture of the end of the XVII century - the last quarter of the XVIII century of Ivano-Frankivsk region and analogous monuments of other cities of Eastern Galychyna.
