Gutsul I. Volodymyr Gagenmeister's artistic activity in the context of cultural development of Kamyanechchyna in the early 20th century.

The dissertation deals with studying artistic activity of a prominent Podilian artist-pedagogue V. Gagenmeister and his contribution to the cultural development of Kamyanechchyna of the first half of the 20th century. The article reveals the stages of professional development of the artist, his artistic-teaching, scientific, publishing, expositional and social activity. The author classifies Gagenmeister's compositions according to the kinds and genres, defines their artistic-compositional and style characteristics, studies the main ways of using art techniques. The article considers the significance of V. Gagenmeister's activity for modern study of local lore, tourism and monument-protecting activity.
