Essay

The dissertation was dealed with the investigation of the right of people to adequate food and the right to freedom from hunger as well as role of the international cooperation in hunger counteraction. It is proposed legal definitions and analysed major elements and the peculiarities of their implementation with respect to separate social groups, and also the correlation with international economic and environmental law. In the dissertation are provided the questions of making of the cooperation of the first non-governmental organizations in their international struggle with hunger. It elucidates problems with what these organizations concluded and also particularities of some international agreements which were concluded with countries during rendering assistance to the affected population. It was provided the world experience of the implementation of the right to adequate food and the right to freedom from hunger. It is proposed to insert an additional statement about the right to freedom from hunger into article 48 of the 1996 Constitution of Ukraine in accordance with article 11 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights adopted in 1966. It is recommended to introduce them into Ukraine's national legal order which is to be followed by next development of remedies for human rights infringements.
