Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the theoretical and experimental research of the artistic-style competence of the future music teachers. The concept of the artistic-style music teacher's competence was defined and its essence was revealed. The relation with various types and levels of the general personality competence was stated. The conceptual model reflecting the artistic-style competence in its artistic specification was created as well as in its gnostic, ontogenetic and pragmatic aspects. This theoretical model and the analyses of the circumstances of the music teachers training in Ukraine and China became the foundation for the definition of the pedagogical principles, conditions and methods for the artistic-style competence, necessary for the Teachers Training Universities. The foundation of the developed complex methodology consists of the principles of cultural correspondence, system, the increase of the concrete to the abstract, from the empiric to the theoretic, from non-specific to the specific, from reproductive to creative knowledge. It includes problematic and action approach, the role play and simulation games methods as well as methods of creative competition, stylized improvisation, the principle of stereoscopic style analysis and the single artistic artifact attribution. The special methods for students' artistic-style competence level testing was worked out on the base of questionnaire polls, teaching testing and expert evaluation of artistic-style knowledge and skills application. The program and methodology of the special course " Theory and History of the Artistic Styles" for the Teachers training Universities was suggested.
