Essay

The Research is devoted to the study of the features of customary rules of etiquette in the traditional culture of Ukraine late XIX - early XX century, as a specific form of the Ukrainians etiquette behavior in the context of the worship traditions, friendliness and hospitality. The study reveals the ontological conditions of the Ukrainians traditional culture and customs etiquette rules formation based on the ritual worship, hospitality, appearance culture, keeping to the etiquette rules in the structure of the individual communication behaviour, interpersonal relations. Formed by centuries of selection behavioral patterns reflect the mentality of the Ukrainians, characterized with such traits as introversity, individualism, a sense of the intimate connection with nature, the dominance of the humanistic component - morality, kindness, tolerance, aestheticism, the prevalence of emotional over the rational and logical. Ethnic stereotypes etiquette of communication played the role in this period of ethnic identity by defining the "Ukrainian type of behavior," a specific national character and way of life.
