In dissertation lingvoistoricalgraphic research of category of parts of speech and principles of their selection is first presented in linguistics of XIX - XX c. The features of parts of speech differentiation are exposed in conceptions of scientists of XIX c., further development of problem of parts of speech differentiation in researches of linguists of 40 y. - to end of XX c., taking into consideration certain changes in the views of researches concerning the quantity of parts of speech and the whole set of criteria, according to which they are identified.
