Professional ethics of nurses is characterized as a constituent of medical ethics that studies moral сonsciousness, moral and ethical aspects of professional activity, moral principles and values that regulate moral relationship between the nurse and the patient, the patient's family, other members of the medical community, and the public. The following basic categories of professional ethics in nursing are described: moral obligation, dignity, conscience, honor, moral responsibility, respect, as well as professionally important ethical features as mercy, love, tolerance, patience, self-mastery, professional tact, and empathy.
